Calculator inputs and shared links

Calculations run in your browser without an account. We do not submit entered amounts to a calculation server. A share URL includes the calculation inputs in its query string. Anyone receiving that URL can read those inputs. Visiting a shared URL also sends that URL to the hosting infrastructure, where it may appear in technical logs. Only share values you are comfortable making available.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept analytics. It helps us understand page usage and browser/device information so we can improve the site. Analytics is optional and the calculators work if you reject it. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in the site configuration.

The site sends only recognised page URLs and fixed page titles, without query strings or fragments, and sends a blank page referrer. If you accept analytics, clicks on our named PDF worksheets and Excel workbooks are recorded with the resource filename and clean download URL. These are link clicks, not proof of a completed download. Calculator inputs, classroom predictions and answers are not included in these events. We do not ask you to enter identifying information into calculator fields.

Your choices and browser storage

The privacy choice is stored in your browser for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies, if accepted, are configured to expire after up to 90 days. Use at any time to reject or accept analytics. Rejecting analytics removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this domain. Clearing browser storage also clears the saved choice.

Hosting and service providers

The website uses Microsoft Azure hosting and delivery services. Requests can produce technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps and browser details in infrastructure logs. Bootstrap, icons and charts are supplied by jsDelivr; loading these resources sends a normal web request to that provider. Google receives analytics information only if you accept analytics. These providers process information under their own service and privacy terms, including processing outside the UK where applicable.
